The Galaxy Library system provides large print and braille books on demand for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Books are distributed in all electronic formats, traditional print, and single or short run print-on-demand, including customizable large font and braille print-on-demand. Braille versions are translated, transcribed, and produced using software from Duxbury Systems. Books can be rented in electronic format or purchased in hard copy. Publishers and content owners can post files in any popular electronic format, including OeB (Open eBook), Microsoft Word, ION, RTF, ASCII Text, HTML, QuarkXpress, and PDF, and these text files can be converted to OeB, MS Reader (lit), ION eMonocle, Franklin, Palm Pilot, Pocket PC, EPOC 32, Smart Phone, and Windows CE format for readers. ION's eMonocle software (see separate entry) allows readers with low vision to read books in eMonocle format with text size increased up to 144 points, menu items increased up to 36 points, and with changed background color or contrast settings.
