The SmartWalk 1400 and SmartWalk 1800 are pedestrian traffic sensors designed to provide hands-free activation or extension of walk signals for people with vision or mobility disabilities. The SmartWalk 1400 uses microprocessor analyzed Doppler mictowave micro-motion technology to determine when a pedestrian is in the detection pattern at curbside for a sufficient length of time to warrant the walk signal being activated. The walk signal is automatically activated without the pedestrian having to press a button. The unit features a bidirectional detection mode and the detection pattern and angle are adjustable. The signal call delay time is adjustable from 0 to 14 seconds in two second intervals. The SmartWalk 1800 detects slow-moving pedestrians in a crosswalk and automatically extends the length of the walk signal. The detection mode is switch-selectable for either unidirectional or bidirectional detection. The detection angle and pattern are adjustable and the extension time can be set for two or five seconds. Both models feature vandal-resistant ABS plastic and anodized aluminum enclosures that can be mounted on existing poles. DIMENSIONS (LxWxH): Both models are 8.56 x 4 x 5 inches including mounting brackets. WEIGHT: Both models weigh approximately 2 pounds.
