Touch & Talk Speech Communication and Therapy Software is a direct selection and keyboard communication program designed for use by individuals with communication, neurological, or speech disabilities, stroke, autism, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), apraxia, or muscular dystrophy. The user clicks, taps, types, or points to words or phrases on the screen and clicks the speak button for spoken narration with either a male or female voice. Word and phrase lists can be customized. The program provides large on-screen buttons and text for users with low vision or fine motor disabilities. The program also includes customizable alarms, medication reminders, 911 emergency alert, and caregiver logs. Users can also communicate with family, caregivers, friends, or the Touch & Talk Home Monitoring Service (not included) via a standard dial-up, DSL, cable or T1 Internet connection. Speech- enabled chat/instant messaging provides full speech narration for the user and chat friends. The program works with any input or pointing device, including a keyboard, mouse, pen or touch enabled displays, wands, or other common devices.
