The Downhill Sit-N-Ski is a snow ski sled designed for children and adults interested in sit-skiing or who have mobility disabilities (paraplegics, quadriplegics, and lower extremity amputees). The hull-style shell with back support helps to properly anchor the skier in the sled with a secure, adaptable mounting for the fabric and foam cushion an adjustable waist belt. These two components aid the skier in maintaining an upright posture and remaining firmly seated in the sled. Machined aluminum blades are mounted on the bottom of the hull, which is made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. A weather-proof nylon cover is included which is made of high- density polyethylene and bolted to the hull. Every sled has a foam cushioned Push-Bar so the user can be assisted across flat terrain. Front and/or rear attachment points may be used with a tether line. All sled purchases come with a flame-proof bodywarmer, one set of 11-inch beginner's ski poles, and a shipping/storage bag. CHAIRLIFT COMPATIBILITY: Loading the Sit-N-Skis requires at least two lifters to raise the shell onto the chair. A "Superman Cape" comes with each Mountain Man sled that attaches to the back support to protect the back of the sled while being loaded onto the ski lift. SIZES: Seven models are available for children and adults. DIMENSIONS: Sled lengths vary according to whether the sled will be used for competition or recreational use. Children's Standard Sit-N-Ski measures 36 by 16 inches. WEIGHT: Unavailable for adult size. Children's Standard is 18 pounds.
