The Inclusive Interactive Sensory Center is a mobile unit designed to create a sensory environment that can be used in therapy to encourage movement and exploration. It features an overhead camera that detects body movement, resulting in the projection of images and effects onto the floor. Output is controlled via a swipe card. Each user has their own card that is programmed specifically for them, with images, video, and audio files to meet their individual needs and preferences. These cards can be re-programmed and changed as the user’s needs or preferences change.
The Inclusive Interactive Sensory Centre is on wheels and the camera can be lowered to allow transfer from room to room. Software effects included are: sounds and pictures of scatter, splat, water ripple and particle affect. Users with very limited movement may alter the projections, while the unit itself can also be activated by light.
