Loquendo TTS (Text to Speech) is a speech synthesis and voice output program designed for use in communication aids and to provide verbal access for individuals who are blind or have low vision or learning disabilities. Applications include personal and tablet computers; augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices; talking cellular phones; email and SMS readers; talking kiosks, bus stops and other stand-alone computerized devices; on-board and station announcements, and e-learning devices. The technology can be used to speech-enable any application. It is available in more than 25 natural-sounding voices and more than 60 languages. The characteristics of each voice (i.e. pitch, speaking rate and volume) can be adjusted and controlled, and there is a Lexicon Manager that allows the user to define pronunciations for specialized vocabulary, abbreviations, acronyms and proper names as well as specialized text formats such as phone numbers, currencies and e-mail addresses.
