The Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation System (CVES), model S213, is a vocational assessment and cognitive skills evaluation system designed for use in assessing individuals who are blind or have low vision. This assessment system identifies relative strengths and weaknesses in the areas of Learning, Problem Solving & Achievement; Sensory & Motor Abilities; and Emotional-Coping & Adaptive Behavior. The system includes the Cognitive Test for the Blind (CTB), the Haptic Sensory Discrimination Test (HSDT), and auxiliary components. The CTB assesses cognitive functions including verbal and performance measures of abstract reasoning, auditory language functions, learning, memory and spatial abilities. Its completely non-visual administration permits use with all levels of visual functioning. The HSDT measures functional tactual discrimination and short-term tactual memory. These active touch senses are often required in learning and performing a variety of tasks such as braille reading, environmental orientation and image awareness. Auxiliary components include the CVES Manual and one package each of the Individual Evaluation & Sensorimotor Profiles, Observational Emotional Inventory-Revised, Emotional Behavioral Checklist, and Survey of Functional Adaptive Behaviors. The materials are packaged in a carrying case. OPTIONS: Components of the system may be purchased separatetly, including the Cognitive Test for the Blind (model S211), Haptic Sensory Discrimination Test (model S212), and auxiliary components (model S210).
