Step One: Gather materials.
- Felt (white, dark pink, light pink, red, orange and yellow)
- Corresponding colored buttons
- Green pipe cleaners
- Flower template (free hand, or find one online to print and trace)
Step Two: The Occupational Therapist uses the template to cut the felt flowers. They make a slit in the middle of the flowers by bending them in the middle and cutting a tiny slit, big enough for the buttons to easily glide in.
Step Three: Attach the buttons to the pipe cleaners.
Step Four: Ask the child to match the color button to the flower and attach it.
Step Five: Bind it together like a bouquet.
Step Six: Use as a gift or for a pretend play flower shop.
