Free Printable Gingerbread Shape Play Dough Mats is a do it yourself educational activity designed for children with learning disabilities to do.

Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Paper
  • Laminating Pouch or Dry Erase Pocket
  • Play Dough
  • Optional: Play Dough Tools

Step Two: Teacher can print out the free printable. If choosing to laminate, they can do that now. If planning to use the pouches, slide the Gingerbread Shape Play Dough Mats into the pockets.

Step Three: Use. The child starts by filling in each shape with the play dough, Then, teacher and child discuss the shape, its name, beginning sound and how many sides that shape has. Also, look around the room and point out objects that are that shape.

Step Four (optional): Use the play dough tools to create patterns and faces in the shapes.
