The Transborder is a standing transfer aid designed for use by individuals with lower extremity, mobility, or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury. The device is a rotating pole that can be used to transfer from one seated position to another (eg., from one wheelchair to another). The user first turns and locks the direction handle, then puts his/her knees and feet in place, grasps the direction handle and stands slighty using arm strength, and then rotates to the selected point.
