Patientcare Wanderer Monitoring System

The PatientCARE Wanderer Monitoring System is a wandering patient system designed for institutional use. The system consists of door monitoring receivers capable of monitoring up to 50 individuals with wrist-worn transmitters, each with a unique digital code. When an individual wearing a transmitter approaches a monitored door, the system is alerted and waits for the door to be opened. When the door is opened and the individual is within a pre-set range, an audible alarm sounds and the transmitter code is displayed on the receiver. Up to four transmitter alarms are held in memory in the event that several individuals leave together. The system offers the option of having a transmitter connected to send alarm information to a console at the nurses' station. The location of the alarm is displayed at the station and the identification code is displayed at the door. The door monitor can be reset using a key. Other features include a 32-character LCD display with backlighting, on-screen programming, and digitally encrypted signal confidential to the facility. A bypass transmitter enables the system to be bypassed for authorized escort. Each system includes one door monitor receiver, one bypass transmitter, one omni-directional antenna, one magnetic contact for door monitoring, one plug-in power transformer, one battery backup, and instructions. POWER: The receiver utilizes a plug-in transformer with battery backup for 1.5 hours of monitoring in the event of a power failure. The transmitter opperates on a battery with a four-year life. OPTIONS: Remote monitoring console, door lock interface, outdoor antenna mount. DIMENSIONS: The receiver is 10 x 8 x 2 inches. The transmitters are 1.7 x 1.5 x 0.72 inches. WEIGHT: The receiver weighs 26 ounces and a transmitter weighs one ounce. WARRANTY: One year on parts and labor.
