FamilyLink is a tablet computer with a touch screen with an attachable keyboard and a home emergency monitoring system designed to provide the means for a child or caregiver to monitor remotely a person with a cognitive disability or a senior. The FamilyLink is a tablet computer that is pre-loaded with a suite software of software that allows a person to communicate with and monitor a person from a distance. The FamilyLink requires a wireless internet connection and a subscription to the FamilyLink services. Through the internet connection, the FamilyLink can provide secure email, video conferencing, and reminders from the one or more relatives or caregivers who are registered with FamilyLink. The tablet also has a motion detector that will monitor activity in a specific living space. The caregiver can log into FamilyLink to check activity levels for the user, and FamilyLink can be set up to send alerts to caregivers in case of prolonged inactivity. The FamilyLink can also be used to stream photos, videos, selected radio stations and weather information or alerts.
