The High Quad Gun Mount, model HQ100, is a rifle, shotgun, pistol and crossbow support and trigger activator designed for use by people with severe physical or upper extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury who use a power wheelchair. Intended to make hunting accessible to individuals with no use of the upper extremities, this device is based on a mounting plate placed under the wheelchair’s seat cushion before the user transfers into the chair. Once the user is seated in the wheelchair, a vertical receiver tube is attached in the middle of the front corner of the plate and the weapon support and the fully-adjustable powered trigger activator assembly are placed in the receiver tube. The support and activator can rotate and pitch to adjust the windage and elevation of the weapon. A joystick operated by the user’s chin controls windage and elevation with selectable speed. The trigger activator is controlled with a sip-and-puff switch. There is also a recoil compensation mechanism to help absorb the recoil of the weapon. Mounting hardware is included and some hardware is intended to remain on the chair.
Power: Uses 12-volt DC power through a connection to a powered wheelchair battery.
