CUSTOM ADAPTATION PURPOSE: To tilt the wheelchair backwards during hair washing and perming. Once the sink water discharge point was lowered by a plumber, a platform was constructed to tilt the wheelchair backwards. The hinged platform was made of steel angle and 12 millimeter plywood and is raised and lowered using a standard scissor car jack. A belt of the type used to secure wheelchairs for vehicle transport is bolted to the higher end of the platform. A removable ramp at the lower end provides wheelchair access. TITLE: Good Hair Day.
