Berlin wants to add to its digital Wall of Honor for local veterans

Hartford Courant - 3/25/2019

March 25-- Mar. 25--Berlin's digital Wall of Honor currently recognizes 130 local military veterans, and the town wants to hear from more.

The veterans commission invites all town residents who served or are serving in the military to send information so they can be added to the roll. Relatives can provide the information on behalf of deceased or living veterans.

The commission dedicated the Wall of Honor in the town hall rotunda last November. A video slideshow runs on a continuous loop on a 46-inch TV screen displays information about each of the 130 veterans who are listed.

The wall honors service in the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard or military reserves.

The commission seeks photos, military history and/or DD 214 (release from active duty forms) of local veterans so they can be included. The information can be dropped off at the town manager's office at town hall. Otherwise, veterans or their relatives may call Peter Galgano at 860 604-7258 with questions.
