Photos Needed: Iowan's Korean War Veterans

WATERLOO | The Grout Museum District, 503 South Street, is opening a new temporary Korean War exhibit in the summer of 2017. The exhibit will feature "Faces Of The Fallen," a component that will honor Iowans who died in the Korean War. It will also go on to become a permanent part of the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum.

A photograph is sought for the following list of fallen Iowans Mitchell County:

Norman Herman Dierks, Air Force, A2C, St. Ansgar, birth ? 1/31/30, death ? 3/14/53; William Laughlin, Marines, CPL, Osage, birth ? 1/10/32, death ? 7/24/52; Eugene John Thome, Navy, SA, Stacyville, birth ? 12/20/30, death ? 3/2/52 or 3/8/52.

High-resolution photographs of these individuals are needed to create this piece. The Grout is asking the public to help with the location of these precious, important photographs.
