Gaffney, S.C. - Edwin Yates Lovelace, 92, formerly of 1038 Champion Ferry Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Magnolia's of Gaffney.

Born in Shelby, N.C., he was the husband of the late Betty Ann Ruppe Lovelace and son of the late William Samuel Lovelace and Mary Clementine Jones Lovelace. He retired from Timken, was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Gary Dean Lovelace and wife, Elaine, and Glenn Lovelace and wife, Lisa, both of Gaffney; four grandchildren, David Lovelace and wife, Meline, Holly Lovelace, Alex Lovelace and Grayson Lovelace; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Noah and Caitlyn. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gilda Ann Lovelace, three brothers, Wiliam Emmett Lovelace, Ernest Lovelace and Evans Lovelace and a sister, Mildred Jackson.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:30 p.m. at the Church with Dr. Rob White and Rev. Josh Oliver officiating. Interment will be in the Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at the residence, 1038 Champion Ferry Road, Gaffney.
