The Silent Call Transmitters are wireless signal transmitters designed to alert persons who are deaf or hard of hearing to different household activities and sounds. When a signal is sent from the transmitter, it is picked up by the receiver and then indicated through a strobe, vibrator or other warning device. These transmitters work with any Silent Call receiver (see separate entries) to indicate either the telephone (Model SC-TEL), the doorbell (Model SC-DB), the smoke detector (Model SC-SMOKE), or a pager (Models SC-1004-1 and SC-1004-2). The telephone transmitter is connected to a modular jack. The doorbell transmitter is attached to the wiring of the existing doorbell and is activated by the same current that operates the chime. The smoke detector is activated by smoke and then its internal transmitter sends the proper coded signal to the receiver. POWER: All transmitters are battery operated. OPTIONS: The Doorbell Transmitter is available with a doorbell button for those who so not have an existing doorbell. WARRANTY: Five years
