The Binocular Galilean System for Near, model 1636, is a binocular magnifier for near-sighted tasks that require free hands such as reading or detailed inspection work for individuals with low vision. They are small lightweight optical systems comprised of a positive objective lens and a negative ocular lens. The lens is Achromatic and has a magnification ranging from 2.5x to 4x and a field of view ranging from 15 to 8 degrees. They are mounted in a frame of black plastic reinforced with fiberglass that comes with a leather zipper case.
