The Quickie Z-500 is a pediatric powered tilt-in-space wheelchair designed for use by children who need to change position without transferring from the wheelchair. A non-tilt option is also available. FRAME: Frame widths range from 12 to 16 inches in 1-inch increments. The rigid frame is available in 11 standard colors and 3 custom colors and includes a growth kit. CONTROLS: A programmable controller and remote joystick with a choice of right or left mounting is standard. A heavy-duty remote and a swing-away, retractable mounting is available. The Smart Pad programmer is optional, and specialty controls are available. The chair is lso available without electronics. RWD: Rear-wheel direct drive. SEAT: A tilt-in-space seat frame is included with this chair. The seat is available in a standard choice of 12- to 16-inch widths, in 1-inch increments. Seat depths range from 10 to 15 inches, in 1-inch increments. The front seat height is 20 inches and the rear seat height is 19.5 inches. The backrest comes in low, 11 to 12 inches; medium, 13 to 14 inches; and tall, 15 to 16 inches high.. A solid seat and back, stroller handles, and custom seat depths are optional.. UPHOLSTERY: Black foam-padded upholstery is standard. Blue, red, or hot pink color striping is available at an extra charge. ARMRESTS: Height-adjustable adult, kids, or pediatric armrests with desk- or full-length pads are included. Adjustable-locking flip-up armrests are available. BRAKES: Push-to-lock wheel locks are standard and pull-to-lock wheel locks are available at no charge. Extension handles are also available. CASTERS: Pneumatic 8-inch casters are standard. Airless inserts are extra cost options. WHEELS: 12-inch mag wheels with pneumatic tires are standard. Pneumatic tires with airless inserts are also available. FOOTRESTS: Swing-away 60-, 70- or 90-degree footrests with composite footplates and heel loops are standard. A 90-degree footboard with leg strap is offered at no charge. Angle-adjustable, adjustable flip-up, platform flip-up, or extended footrests are optional. Elevating legrests and articulating legrests are also available. OPTIONS: Positioning belts, backpack, seat pouch, touch-up paint, tray, and others. POWER: Uses two gel or lead acid batteries (not included). A dual mode battery charger is included with the chair. SPEEDS: 5 miles per hour with a range of 25 miles. CAPACITY: 150 pounds. WEIGHT: 65 pounds without batteries. WARRANTY: The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty on the frame and a one-year warranty on the joystick.
