The Olympus VN-702PC is a digital recorder that can be used by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This portable recorder features between 131 and 823 hours of recording time for Windows Media Audio (WMA) Mono format, 22 and 33.50 hours for MPEG-1 Audio Layer3 (MP3) Stereo format, and 89.50 hours for MP3 Mono format using built-in 2 gigabytes (GB) flash memory. The VN-702PC can accept microSD cards up to 32 GB. The sampling frequencies are 44.1 kHz for MP3 format and between 8 and 44.1 kHz for WMA format. Other features include a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen, a built-in stand, USB interface, five folders (200 messages per folder), a built-in 28-millimeter (mm) round dynamic speaker, a 3.5-mm microphone jack, and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The Calendar Search function allows the user to search for files by date and to play them back. The Scene Select function automatically adjusts the microphone to capture the best sound.
