The Hanover Detectable Warning Paver is a detectable warning surface that can be used in a pedestrian area to warn individuals who are blind or have low vision of an impending hazard on the route ahead. The paver has a distinctively textured walking surface with truncated domes that can be sensed by a cane or underfoot. The paver is made from crushed limestone and granite bonded together under extreme hydraulic pressure. A non-slip texture is applied to the surface of the paver. The paver can withstand snow removal and freeze thaw conditions, but is not recommended for areas subject to vehicular traffic. Typical installations include railway platforms, curb ramps, and curb indication. Hydraulically pressed concrete pavers have the density and strength of natural stone. The paver has a Tudor finish, a non-directional surface finish, which exposes the aggregate delicately, giving the paver a granite-like appearance. Pavers have a minimum compressive strength of 8500 pounds per square inch (psi), with water absorption of 5 percent or less. DIMENSIONS (DxW): 11.75 x 11.75, 23.5 x 23.5, 23.5 x 29.5, or 23.5 x 35.375 inches. Standard thickness is 2 inches. Other available thicknesses range from 1.25 to 4 inches, but not all sizes come in all thicknesses. Dome height is 0.2 inch. COLOR: Red, charcoal, or yellow. Other colors are available. WARRANTY: The manufacturer will certify specific pavers to meet or exceed internal standards as well as ASTM performance standards.
