The EMU-Max is a three wheeled mobility scooter designed for use by individuals with lower extremity or mobility disabilities. This scooter offers the user the option of sitting or standing while riding. The EMU-Max's special standing design offer users eye-to-eye contact with individuals who are standing upright. FRAME: The EMU-Max is constructed of a white and chrome finish frame. It has collapsible, height adjustable handlebars; front LED headlight; rear tail and brake lights, left and right turn signals; alarm system with two remote fobs; electric horn; dual rear view mirrors; tool kit; owner's manual; two ignition keys; and a front wire basket. It disassembles to fit in most car trunks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). FWD: Front wheel drive with 500 watt permanent magnet brushless DC motor. CONTROLS: It has dual speed switches mounted on the handlebars - one to operate at 0-8 mph and the other to operate at 0-20 mph. SEAT: Bicycle-style seat with optional lumbar support. The seat height is adjustable, and the seat and its supporting pole can be removed when the user wants to operate the scooter standing. BRAKES: Drum brake built into front wheel hub. WHEELS: Pneumatic tires on all wheels. POWER: Lithium-ion battery (48 volt); a 110 volt charger with automatic cut off is included. Recharge time is 4 to 6 hours. SPEED: 20 miles per hour; maximum range of 20 miles on a single battery charge. WEIGHT: 70 pounds. WARRANTY: 12-month warranty.
