The CARE WET-SENSE Incontinence Monitoring System is an incontinence alarm designed for use in long-term care settings. The system includes a control unit which is mounted on or near the bed and a thin, flexible sensor which is taped to the porous side of a bed pad or other absorbent item. The sensor is a flexible electronic circuit that is connected to the control unit by a cord. When moisture is absorbed by the bed pad, the sensor detects it, causing a bright red light to flash on the control unit. Designed to be seen from the hallway or doorway, the light signals nursing staff or a caregiver that a bed change is required, eliminating unnecessary changes or waking of the individual. Intended for use with a single individual, the sensor lasts a minimum of thirty days and can be cleaned with alcohol. OPTIONS: An audible alarm or nurse call can be added at no additional cost. DIMENSIONS: The cord between the sensor and the control unit is six feet long.
