The Burdenko Water Walker is swimming pool exercise equipment designed for use by individuals with lower extremity disabilities. This aquatic therapy device provides a variable resistance workout. It consists of a plastic base plate with nylon fabric "wings," which increase the surface area for resistance three to five times the size of the user's foot. The wings automatically "deplane" during upward leg movement and automatically "plane" out during downward leg movement, minimizing resistance during upward movement of the leg and foot and maximizing resistance during downward movement. Users are secured to the base plate by adjustable nylon straps with neoprene and waterproof Velcro sewn onto the material. The device accommodates foot sizes from women's size 6 to men's size 13; users with smaller or sensitive feet may wear a water shoe. DIMENSIONS (LxW): Overall dimension are 15 x 10 inches; the base plate is 11 x 6 inches. COLORS: Black with red straps. WARRANTY: The manufacturer will replace any defective product, or part, with an equal or better replacement unit for up to one year from the date of manufacture. Each product is date stamped with the date of manufacture on the underside of the base plate.
