E4 Wristband

The E4 Wristband it is a monitoring device designed to observe and record psychological signals for people with Epilepsy. The Wristband is built with four sensors: Photoplethysmography (PPG) for continuous heart rate (supporting Hearth Rate Variability analysis for stress and relaxation); 3-axis Accelerometer Movement data to support activity classification; Electrodermal Activity (EDA) for skin conductance (i.e., Galvanic Skin Response, sympathetic activation, autonomic arousal, excitement); and Infrared thermopile for peripheral skin temperature. This instrument alerts the user when unusual events, like a convulsive seizure happens. It records and analyzes the data at anytime and anywhere using a secured cloud and or an app. When it is on memory mode, the E4 stores data in its internal memory, then the information can be downloaded, via USB, through the Empatica Manager for Windows and Mac. The streaming mode enables the E4 to connect to a mobile or a desktop computer using Bluetooth for live streaming and viewing of the data. There are also apps for iOS and Androids as well as API’s for Windows and Mac.
