Step One: Gather materials: a shower curtain ring and small rubber bands in assorted colors.
Step Two: Scatter rubber bands out on any surface.
Step Three: Call out colors randomly or in sequence and have the child scan for the correct specific color of the rubber bands. This is easier if a less rubber bands are used or if the color choice of rubber bands is limited. This activity is made more difficult by adding more rubber bands and more colors.
Step Four: To further challenge visual scanning skills add white shower curtain rings to the surface and repeat the activity (Steps Two and Three).
