This Homemade Sensory Tunnel is designed for children with Autism and sensory processing disorder to promote gross motor play and proprioceptive sensory input.
Technical Specifications: 

Step One: Gather materials.

  • Spandex - 3 meters long (or approximately 3 yards long)
  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors

Step Two: Cut the fabric so that it was about 45 inches wide.

Step Three: Sew. Fold the fabric in half so that it makes a long rectangle.Use a zigzag stitch along to sew the ends of the spandex together. Backstitch at the start and the finish.

Step Four: Use the sensory tunnel.
