The BullDog is a pedestrian signal control switch designed for individuals with arthritis or neuromuscular disabilities, or who are blind or have low vision. It is a pressure-activated, non-moving switch designed so that it cannot be jammed, cannot be super-glued shut, or made to stick in the "on" position. It is resistant to flame and ice, and it can withstand severe impacts from baseball bats, hockey sticks, skateboards, and hammers. When it is pressed it provides both a two- tone audible beep and a bright red light emitting diode (LED) light to notify the user that the switch was activated. The LED light is visible in sunlight. Only two to three pounds of force are required to activate this buttonswitch, so it can easily be activated by individuals with arthritis or limited muscular strength. The button is made of nickel-plated aluminum, and the outer body surrounding the button is made of powder-coated aluminum. The switch is a solid state switch with an operating life of more than 20 million operations. It can operate in a temperature range of minus 34 degrees to 74 degrees centigrade. OPTIONS: Spanner head tamper resistant screw sets and spanner head bits to prevent theft in high vandalism situations; aluminum adapter plate and modified push button to fit an H-frame push button station or a Rees button conduit box; LED in momentary version with briefly flashing light or latching version that flashes until walk phase when this switch is used at a crosswalk. COLOR: The button is silver, and the outer body surrounding the button is available in black, yellow, green, or silver.
