All About Materials is a language and science tutorial program designed for use by children with learning and reading disabilities. To rescue the king in the weird and wobbly land of the Green Jelly, children must know the nature of materials from metal to fabric. Sorting and matching activities, simulations of objects floating and sinking, and experiments with magnetism are some of the ways users interact with the program. Special features include a notepad with talking word banks, narrated text, photographs, slide shows, Venn diagrams, and a weblink. Children use listening skills and powers of deduction as they test their new knowledge of materials in the Green Jelly branching story. Success is rewarded with an invitation to the Jelly Wobbles' party. COMPATIBILITY: The CD-ROM includes versions for IBM and compatible and Macintosh computers with or without a network. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The IBM and compatible version required a 75 megaHertz (mHz) processor, Windows 3.1 or higher, 16 megabytes (MB) RAM, a CD-ROM drive, sound card, and a color monitor.
