Sports Clips in El Paso to offer free haircuts to veterans

Sports Clips shops in El Paso will offer free haircuts for veterans on or before Thursday, Nov. 11.

Participating locations will be offering haircuts to veterans and service members with military I.D.

Also, $2 from regular haircuts will go toward the Veterans of Foreign Wars' Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarships for service members and veterans, according to a press release. The scholarships have existed since 2013 to cover education expenses that go beyond what's covered by G.I. Bill funds.

Locations: 1830 N Zaragoza Road Unit 103, 8889 Gateway West Blvd. Unit 3010, Sport Clips Haircuts, 13900 Horizon Blvd., Horizon City, 2701 N. Mesa St. Unit B, 655 Sunland Park Dr., 10771 Gateway Blvd. S Unit 104, and 6450 N. Desert Blvd. Unit B-107

To date, Sport Clips and its clients have made more than $9.2 million in VFW-administered scholarships.

This year's goal is to raise $1.5 million, which will afford scholarships of up to $5,000 for service members and veterans pursuing an education at post-secondary institutions, including trade schools.
