Keith Mayer: Ms. Pennsylvania, other Birdsboro Legion members serve breakfast to Berks veterans

Apr. 10—Veterans Making A Difference held its regular second Saturday event at the Paul R. Gordon Social Center inside Hope Rescue Mission, which includes giving toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap and dish soap to veterans.

The Birdsboro American Legion served breakfast for the veterans. There was also musical entertainment.

Legion member Brianne Houck, who is the USOA 2022 Ms. Pennsylvania, was also there with two other title holders from the region.

The center is open to all active duty military, reserve, guardsmen and veterans. The center is open 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to Friday, the second Saturday and last Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. The last Saturday is the veteran food pantry.

Anyone interested in preparing and serving a meal at the center, holding a canned food drive for the pantry, or making a monetary donation should contact Liz Graybill at 484-577-6898 or lizgraybill@yahoo.com.
