City of Greeley seeks volunteers for annual Memorial Day ceremony at Linn Grove Cemetery

May 17—The city of Greeley is looking for volunteers for its annual Memorial Day ceremony at Linn Grove Cemetery, scheduled this year for 9 a.m. Monday, May 29 in Greeley.
The ceremony will last about an hour and will be held rain or shine. The cemetery is located at 1700 Cedar Ave.
Deborah A. Baker, a U.S. Air Force veteran, clinical psychologist and program director of the Community Grief Center, will be the guest speaker.
Linn Grove staff will post flags at veterans' graves from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 through Saturday, May 27.
Volunteers are needed and should check in at the main office on Cedar Avenue. Groups of 20 or more volunteers are asked to call ahead with their arrival time. The cemetery office phone number is (970) 350-9386.

The staff at Linn Grove Cemetery work with various Weld County military organizations to honor veterans.

Avenue of Flags is a magnificent display on Memorial Day and draws crowds from across the state. The display features prominent American flags throughout the cemetery and on more than 2,000 veteran graves.
