Vietnam veteran to lead West Haven Memorial Day parade

May 24—WEST HAVEN — A 73-year-old Vietnam War veteran will lead West Haven'sMemorial Day parade Monday as its grand marshal.
Mark Levine, a lifelong resident of the city, will lead the 48-unit procession along the 1.5-mile parade route along Campbell Avenue beginning on Captain Thomas Boulevard, to step off at 10:30 a.m.May 29, according to a statement by the city.
"It's a great honor to serve as grand marshal," Levine, an Army veteran, said in a statement. "I was thrilled, honored and humbled when the West Haven Veterans Council nominated me at the April meeting."
"Mark hails from a great West Haven family, and I look forward to marching with him and so many other West Haven veterans on Memorial Day," Mayor Nancy Rossi said in a statement.
